The Scout Fellowship is a group of adults who have one thing in common - a wish to support Scouting. A Scout Fellowship welcomes men and women of all ages, interests and backgrounds. There is no need to have been involved in Scouting or Guiding before, all that is required is a willingness to give some of your time to Scouting. In return you will make friends and be able to join with others doing whatever you decide. A Scout Fellowship has its own social and activity programme.

The aim of the Scout Fellowship is "Providing Active Support", with the emphasis being very much on supporting the youth programme in an active manner, at all levels of the Association from the local Scout Group to National level.

Solihull Scout Fellowship meets on the second Monday of each month at 7.30 pm in County Headquarters.

Anyone interested in joining fellowship is welcome to attend any of the meetings or contact Dal Lardner on fellowship@solihullscouts.org.uk or leave a message on 0844 8845451.

FELLOWSHIP NEWSLETTER

SEPTEMBER 2007 No 91

It has been a good season for the Fellowship this summer. In July we had a return visit from Ray Barratt with his excerpts of taped music for people to try to identity and then sing along with. The high spot was Barbara and Ray jiving merrily away to the music! Unfortunately, Ray is giving up evening meetings as he lives way out in the country and does not like night driving so we were lucky to have had him again.

In August, 25 of us were lucky enough to visit the gardens at Highgrove House. It was a unique, unforgettable and totally unexpected experience. I think we all came away with a far greater respect for Prince Charles and all that he believes in. We had been on the waiting list for three years but it was well worth the wait.

Future meetings:

September 10th "What The Papers Said In The 1800s" bv Mr and Mrs Smith - a fascinating glimpse of events in past years.

Saturday September 22nd Day Excursion To ‘The Shambles', Newent
Leaving Solihull 8.30am. Cost £18.50 which includes entrance and coach fee. Money to Barbara at September meeting, please. There are still three seats available, so if you want to go, please contact Barbara

November.12th Social. The programme for the Christmas meeting has been changed slightly this year. Don't worry , you will still have your fish and chip supper! But before that we hope to have the Solihull Jamboree representatives coming to show us the film of their experiences We are told that this is an excellent presentation and we felt that we should see it while it is still fresh in the memory, although this still has to be confirmed by Steve O'Grady. Dave Landreth assures me that he is more than happy to give them pride of place.

January 14th "The History of Johnson's Coaches" This is an old-established family firm and Barbara has booked Mr Johnson. This is an interesting and entertaining talk and something a bit different for us.
